Manufactured/Modular Homes have been a part of Jeff and Sandy Munsell’s lives for 40 years. Excelsior Homes West, Inc. of Hutchinson, MN was founded in 1973. Together, in their 40 years in the Manufactured and Modular Home industry, they have seen and done it all! From sales to delivery, to set-up, service, bookkeeping and decorating and so on, they have built their life around their business. With their two children and son-in-law on board, the family tradition as a manufactured / modular home dealer and contractor continues. Check out our About Us page to learn more about the history of Excelsior Homes.
Over the years Jeff and Sandy built countless relationships and friendships with their customers. Jeff recalls one of his most memorable being a family from Chicago, Pat and Betty Hallahan. After retiring from the Chicago Transit Authority in the early 80’s, they moved to Hutchinson,MN where one of their sixteen children lived. Pat grew up in a family that was in Vaudeville (song and dance) and was a dance instructor. Betty, his wife, was a beautiful lady and did costumes for the dancers. Jeff said Pat was outgoing and very demanding, but a pussycat when he got to know him. He sold them two new Schult Manufactured/Double-wide homes. He went on to also sell homes to most of the six children who made the move to Hutchinson with them. Pat and Betty are gone now, but their kids continue their legacy of teaching song and dance to young people. Stay tuned for future posts about past customers.
Family – It’s what matters!
Although being a manufactured / modular home dealer has been a significant part of their lives they have managed to also keep family front and center. In their free time, Jeff and Sandy, enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren at their lake home in rural Darwin, MN. When they are not at work or home you will likely find them golfing in Arizona or at the Crow River Golf Club.
Families are the compass that guides us. They are the inspiration to reach great heights, and our comfort when we occasionally falter.
