Some of you already know exactly where you want your new home to go. Others are still figuring it out as you explore options available within the community you wish to live in. Either way, choosing your location is an important part of the early planning process because it helps you answer the location details that should be discussed early. We will help you find those answers, guide you through the decisions, and point you to the right people and places for anything that needs to happen next.
- Rural or city, and are there other existing structures on site
- Lot size and usable space for the home and driveway
- Setbacks and easements that can limit where the home can be placed
- Zoning rules, covenants, permits, and inspection timelines in your city, county, or community
- Site grading and drainage so water moves away from the home
- Utility availability and connection needs for electric, gas, water, and sewer or septic, plus well and septic requirements if you are on private land
